Why the Dragonfly?
The dragonfly has been around for over 300 million years and has captured the imagination of humans for centuries. It is a symbol of transformation, change, self-realisation, growth, emotional maturity and adaptability in many cultures around the world.
Despite its delicate appearance, the dragonfly is capable of incredible feats of flight and speed. It is able to change direction quickly and fly in all directions, making it a symbol of adaptability and flexibility.
The dragonfly molts several times throughout its life. Each time it molts, it starts a new chapter of its life making it a symbol for change, growth and transformation.
The symbolism of the Dragonfly reflects the vision and values of Dragonfly Psychology. I hope to empower people, to recognise their capabilities and believe in their strengths, to grow as individuals and to adapt to changes in their lives and to reach their desired outcomes and goals.
A little about me...
I am a Registered Psychologist, a Board Approved AHPRA Supervisor, and a mum to 2 not-so-little individuals.
My working life as a psychologist has taken me through the education, employment, and employer assistance program (EAP) settings as well as working as a contractor. In January 2021, I set up my own practice, to offer a safe and supportive space for people to grow and transform through their personal challenges.
Understanding that each person is unique, I approach my work in a way that is personable and filled with empathy and compassion. I hope to offer people a safe, non-judgemental space to reflect on and better understand themselves and their needs, and ultimately support them in their journey through challenging times.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family or at the gym. My hobbies include all things art/craft, baking, gardening and DIY projects!
