The Dragonfly Vision

Dragonfly Psychology Perth aims to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples who may be experiencing difficulties due to personal or relationship challenges - a space where they can thrive, grow and transform.

My Approach

I believe that everyone has the capacity to thrive and recover from psychological difficulties. By offering people a safe, non-judgemental space to reflect on and better understand themselves and their needs, I work collaboratively with them to support them in their journey through challenging times. 

I approach my work in a way that is personable and filled with empathy and compassion. Understanding that each person is unique, I draw upon draw upon a range of evidence-based approaches to assist them to reach their desired outcomes and goals. These include - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Gottman Relationship Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment approach for a range of mental and emotional health issues including anxiety and depression. This approach helps individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more helpful behavioural responses to situations.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) help individuals develop psychological flexibility by learning how to accept difficult thoughts and feelings and take action towards a more meaningful life.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

Gottman Relationship Therapy

Gottman Relationship Therapy aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

​Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the idea of learning how to be fully present and engaged in the moment, aware of your thoughts and feelings without distraction or judgment. It is the conscious awareness of our present moment. This includes openness and non-judgment about the experience.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a technique to enhance motivation and commitment for change, by  allowing clients to identify their reasons for change based on their own values and interests.
